What an amazing find! We stayed in the cottage for 3 nights just to get away from our busy lives at home.
This place was everything we had expected. It is very remote set in a beautiful private estate. The hosts were very helpful when sending details of how to find the cottage which we found no problem at all.
The cottage is a five minute walk through lovely woodland to the picturesque Mawddach Trail. Stunning scenery. We took our bikes and cycled along the flat trail to Barmouth which was about 6 miles.
Back at the cottage there is plenty of space to store the bikes and lovely log burner to get warm after your day out.
All in all an incredible base to go walking and cycling in the stunning welsh mountains. Highly recommend and will return.

We spent a quiet and wholesome new year at Allison’s cottage in the middle of the forest. A peaceful place away from the bustle of life, it was the perfect place to relax after a busy Christmas.
The cottage is just outside of Dolgellau a historic town with a lot of charm, it’s one of the few places to retain localised living, with only one or two chain shops available. It’s also right next to an estuary which you can walk along all the way to Barmouth beach – it takes 2.5 hours and it well worth it for the views.
Rob and Sandra were perfect hosts, they made us feel very welcome and even left us some nice treats in the cottage (we enjoyed the Prosecco very much!). We would visit the cottage again in a heartbeat!
Loved my stay here, the cottage is so cosy and well equipped. The rooms were clean and tidy and the bed was super comfy. The courtyard and gardens are so pretty! The surrounding area is beautiful with lots of lovely walks nearby.
